After successfully passing the CPA exam and obtaining my Master's degree in Taxation from Florida International University, I worked as a Public Accountant. a Controller for Smith Watson Parker Insurance Agency, a Financial analyst for AT&T, an Accounting Manager for the City of Hallandale Beach and Florida International University. Steps necessary to take prior to meeting with CPA Tax Advisor

- Have a copy of your prior income tax return available
- Have all of your year end statements available; W-2's / 1099's / K-1's / (This should include your earning statements from work, interest and dividends, retirement distributions and contributions, your statement of mortgage interest and taxes paid for 2010,
- A list of your dependents (children, parents, ....)
- Social Security #'s for all exemptions claiming - yourself, spouse, children ....
- Dates of birth for exemptions claiming
- Note any changes from 2009 (started a business, had a child, moved, ....)
- Relating to sales of stock; have available a list of the stocks sold during 2010 including their sales price, their cost, date sold, and date acquired
- Relating to business activities; have available your income. startup cost, expenses paid for 2010 and depreciation records
